On September 9, 2010, a massive natural gas pipeline explosion ripped through San Bruno, CA, a suburb of San Francisco. The mishap follows deadly gas line explosion on Christmas Eve 2008 in Rancho Cordova. Both blasts were blamed on shoddy maintenance by Pacific Gas & Electric, which eventually was fined a couple billion dollars. Ooops.
