Campos Basin Brazil | Chevron | 500,000 gallons | Nov 2011

“The Reports Do Not Correspond With the Reality”

Chevron Exploratory Well Uncontrolled Leakage

As much as 157000 gallons per day into Brazil’s Campos Basin

A lot of oil was released into the ocean off the Coast of Rio de Janero from November 7 – November 15 2011. Chevron had some trouble bringing the leak under control and they had trouble getting their story straight as to how much was leaking. Criminal charges were brought against several Chevron and Transocean executives, but they were dismissed in 2013. All better now.
