5,000 Residents Evacuated After Poisons Gas Spill and Fire

Tennessee poison spill Two mile radius evacuation zone as tanker car carrying poison burns

A CSX train derailed near Knoxville, TN on July 2, releasing poison gas into the area as one of the cars burned. About 5,000 residents were evacuated from a zone around 2 miles in radius, with the situation expected to play out over at least 48 hours. This is the 7th major train derailment involving toxic spills and fires this year.
