“We’re Lucky It Didn’t Ignite!”

Alberta pipeline spill

Four oil tanker rail cares in Montana spilled about 35,000 gallons of Bakken crude oil spilled near Billings, MT when four tank cars derailed. The derailment knocked down a power line and about a dozen people were evacuated from their homes. Quoted in the Columbian, Roosevelt County Chief Deputy Sheriff Corey Reum said “we’re lucky it didn’t ignite”.

Indeed. The 47 people killed in Lac-Megantic, Quebec were not so lucky.
